Sondra Overton Foy passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. She was born on August 24, 1940, to Flora Bell and Mem Overton in Brownfield, TX. She grew up in a 26-family close-knit oilfield community near Denver City.

Sondra graduated from Denver City High School in 1958 as valedictorian. She finished business college in Lubbock, and she also did modeling. She worked as secretary to the Lubbock City Manager and later became secretary to DeWitt Weaver, football coach at Texas Tech. During this time, she met & married Mike Foy from Ballinger. They moved to Odessa where they raised their daughter and 2 sons.

Sondra worked in Personnel for the City of Odessa, the Social Security Administration, Air Machinery & Permian Bank. She was a Baptist, loved pretty flowers, organized household, baking and cooking. Sondra also did estate sales for select people. She & Mike embraced their 3 children, now grown grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her mother, father, sister, youngest son Kyle and her husband. Survivors include her children, Michele Ashby & Stephen of Georgetown, Blake Foy & Denice of Midland; grandchildren, Mindy Weeden & Lukas of Round Rock, Maecy Ashby of Georgetown, Michaela Foy of The Colony, and Marlin Foy & Jenn of Georgetown; and great grandchildren, Tracyn and Brooklyn Weeden of Round Rock.

We honor her wishes for no service. In her words, “We will meet again in God’s Great Heaven”. Condolences to the family. Memorials to a worthwhile charity.
