Stephan “Steve” Skaggs passed away in Soap Lake, WA on October 23rd, 2023, at the age of 69.
He was born in Pecos, Texas on December 17th, 1953, to Frederick and Joyce Skaggs. He graduated from Peacock Military Academy in 1973. In his youth he worked as a Butcher in West Texas. Later, he became self-employed and owned his own business, Skaggs Chimney Sweeps in Georgetown, Texas and was beloved as the tall man in a top hat. In his later years he moved to Soap Lake, Washington to enjoy the peaceful serenity and scenic views. He is remembered as being a unique and genuine person that loved people, animals, and his family dearly.
Steve is survived by his children, Joshua Skaggs and fiancé Dana Cropp Davis of Roanoke, Texas, Jade Skaggs Rocha and husband Art Rocha of Converse, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler Skaggs, Kaylee Leon, Skyler Elkins, and Aiden Elkins; his Brothers, Danny and wife Kara Skaggs of San Antonio, Texas, Dennis and wife Gaye Skaggs of Midland, Texas; his dearly loved nieces and nephews, Angela, Jeremy, Nathan, Jill, Jordan, Janae, and their families.
He is preceded in death by his niece, Jennifer Skaggs; and parents, Fred and Joyce Skaggs of Odessa Texas.
Services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, November 3rd, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. Visitation starts at noon and funeral service begins at 1pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve’s life.
