Stephen Mccleery

Stephen Patrick McCleery, age 55 of Odessa, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 in Odessa.

He was born November 11, 1956 in San Angelo, Texas to Uel Dallas McCleery and Izora Belle Humberd McCleery. He was a 1975 graduate of Permian High School. He married Colleen Marie Bobo on September 6, 1991 in Odessa. He was a real estate investor.

He was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church and was currently a Trustee. Steve worked in the family business, Melvins Clothiers until 1994 later opened Stephens Menswear. He was a master craftsman at everything he set his mind to. His talents varied from making exquisite jewelry to hand crafting pens and he could remodel a house with his own two hands. He considered all his varied friends as family and he touched many lives throughout his life. He loved to travel, fish and hunt, or just get out and gather with friends for coffee, a meal, a game of cards or a movie. His last day was a combination of what he loved: coffee with friends in the morning, spending the day working on a remodel, having lunch with more friends, then traveling with his brother for some rest and relaxation to the Mission Fields He will be missed. But we do not grieve like those who have no hope. Steve is in the presence of the God he loved and trusted and He would want everyone to know.

Preceeded in death by his father and mother Uel Dallas McCleery and Izora Belle McCleery.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen McCleery his sisters, Carolyn Hawkins and her husband Larry of Amarillo and Denise Butler of North Richland Hills and his brother, Michael McCleery of Odessa and seven nieces and two nephews.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 17, 2012 at Crossroads Fellowship Church with Pastor David Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
