Steven Bernal

Steven T. Bernal, age 65, of Odessa, TX, was welcomed into Heaven while peacefully sleeping at his home on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. He then reunited with his late father, Antonio Bernal Sr. and his late sister, Yolanda Peregrino.

Steven was born and raised in Odessa, TX. He graduated from Ector High School in 1968, where he met his beautiful wife Susie G. Bernal. They married October 16, 1969. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honored as a Vietnam Veteran in 19701971. He was a hard working man that provided for his family. He worked as an equipment operator for many years at Rexene. He also was a construction worker who proudly built a beautiful home for his family. He was filled with laughter and enjoyed life to the fullest. His smile brightened the room. He touched many lives and gave many encouraging words.

Steven is survived by his mother, Gumecinda Tavarez his stepmom, Rachel Bernal brothers, Tony Bernal Jr. and wife Cindy and Richard Bernal and wife Margaret. He was a loving father to 3 daughters, Sonia and husband Fabian Lopez, Sophia Bernal and Serena Bernal two sons, Steven M. Bernal and wife Lacey and Samuel Bernal and wife Samantha. He will be cherished and remembered by his children and grandchildren, Cheyenne, Justin, Stephanie, Emily, Ethan, Isaiah, Zechariah, Kiersten, Shelby and Jaxon. We love you always Dado.

Pallbearers will be: Steven M. Bernal, Samuel D. Bernal, Justin Lopez, Fabian Lopez, David Alvarez and Fabien Aguirre.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 68 pm at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Freddy Steen and Pastor Jimmy Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
