Susan Kathleen Reese Weeks, of Odessa, was carried by the angels from her temporary home to meet her heavenly Father on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the age of 54. She was at Baylor University Roberts Hospital under the care of the most caring staff when God called her home. Susan was born in Odessa, Texas, to John Edward Reese and Lazelle Sweeten Reese on July 3, 1958.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, John Edward Reese her mother Lazelle Sweeten Reese her brother, Orville Jimmy Higginbotham and her sister, Diane Reese Thetford.
Left here to carry her memory are Bruce Lee Weeks, her son Kayla Lazelle Weeks, her daughter Blake Edward Hogue, her son Donna Kay Reese, her big sister five precious grandchildrenShawnda Weeks, Brandon Weeks, Kadyn Weeks, Trystan Weeks, and Jackson Culver all of Odessa. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Pam Hardt, James Hardt, Larry Hardt, Eddie Thetford, Amanda Thetford, Savannah, Serenity, Davey, Madisin, and Tanner. Her family and friends will mourn her passing and miss her smile.
Susan graduated from Permian High School in 1976. She married Gaylon Weeks and started her family. She loved her children and enjoyed making birthday cakes and doing ceramics. She worked at many convenience stores in the area. She loved her customers and they loved her. She enjoyed adding a little sunshine to their day in her own special way. She was proud that many of them would go out of their way to stop at her store just to say hello and get their daily dose of Susans humor. She always found a way to make people laugh. No matter how bad the situation, she would find a way to make a joke and lighten the moment.
Susan loved life and enjoyed talking to people. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, but most of all she was a friend who shared her laughter and humor hoping to make your day a little brighter. Though she wont be here with us to make us laugh, her memory will live on in our hearts and minds. Those memories will certainly bring a smile to those of us fortunate enough to have known her and been a part of her short life here on earth.
