Suzette Holloman

Suzette Hirsch Holloman, age 70, of Odessa, left her earthly home on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 surrounded by dear friends.

She was born in Dallas on October 30, 1939, to Irma and Raymond Strode and spent her early years there.

She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1963, with a Bachelor of Education. She taught at Hood Junior High and Permian High School before retiring.

She was very active in the community, serving on the Boards of the Boys and Girls Club, the Ronald McDonald House Charity, and the Humane Society of Odessa. She was also a member of Laureate Zeta Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and was a devoted member of the Gardendale Christian Fellowship Church.

Suzette was known for her intense love of animals. She served as President of the Humane Society for many years and donated much of her time and resources to the organization. Consequently, she requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Humane Society of Odessa, 7012 W. Mockingbird Lane, Odessa, Texas 79763, phone number 432 3815503.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Tracy Lea Hirsch.
