Tammy Diann Winkler 65, of Odessa, Texas passed from this earth and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 24th, 2023, where she will join her beloved husband Donald Raymond Winkler.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, with Roger Haas performing the eulogy.
Tammy was born in Brownfield, Texas on May 1st, 1958, to Frankie Eugene Helton and Beverly Kay Helton. She married Donald Raymond Winkler on August 16, 1985, in Lea County, New Mexico. Tammy graduated from Odessa High School and attended nursing school for a time. She worked various jobs during her life these included: Tripp Construction/Office Manager, Anderson Tile/Sales, and Deering Nursing Home/Director of Guest Services. Her career was working as a plumber. Don and Tammy owned a family business “Don’s Plumbing” and she worked there for 38 years. Tammy was involved with the Eagle Lodge Organization and held the position of Women’s Auxiliary President. She also worked as a cook, secretary, fund raising, and running bingo games for the Eagles Lodge. One specific fund-raising event was for OPD Teddy Bears which officers would carry in their patrol care and give to children who experienced a traumatic event. Tammy loved to bowl. This was something both her and Don shared a passion for. She was involved with youth league bowling and coaching.
Tammy’s life centered around three major areas Work, bowling, and home (family). She was a good cook, enjoyed making wreaths, and loved decorating for holidays. Tammy was the glue that held the family together, she was a strong determined woman. She was a loyal friend of many. Tammy fought the good fight until she could not. She was well loved by many and will be sorely missed by those she left behind.
Tammy Diann Winkler is preceded in death by Frankie Eugene Winkler (Father); Beverly Kay Winkler (Mother); Donald Raymond Winkler (Husband); Shauna Deanne Davis (Daughter); Brittany Raye Winkler (Daughter); and Max (Beloved Dog).
Tammy Diann Winkler is survived by Randy Helton (Brother); Torey Helton (Sister); Matthew Winkler (Son); Wesley Winkler (Son); Christopher Winkler (Son); multiple grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and her beloved Dog Sarge.
