Tanya Olivas

On June 29, 2013, a true Proverbs woman, Tanya Laynette Olivas, at age 51, entered Heavens gates into the arms of the Lord.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 68 PM at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in Odessa, with Pastor Bobby Bell officiating. On Wednesday, July 3, 2013, the funeral service will be held at New Life Chapel at 914 N. Texas in Odessa at 10:00 AM with Marcus Zuniga officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Tanya was born on September 14, 1961 in Odessa, Texas to Pedro Quintela and Dolores Ybarra Quintela. She met and married the love of her life, Porfirio Olivas on June 1, 1982. They recently celebrated 31 years of marriage. They started a beautiful family and had three children and were blessed with two grandbabies and a soninlaw, whom she loved as a son.

Tanya enjoyed helping others. She worked as a nursing assistant for many years. Her last job was office manager at Cris Wray State Farm, where they lovingly called her Mamma Bear. Tanyas biggest and most fulfilling role however, was being a devoted wife, nurturing mother and loving grandmama. She was an amazing cook, decorator, counselor, confidant, prayer warrior, and dear friend to many. She was very adventurous and loved the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Porfirio Olivas of Odessa children, Desiree Aguilar and husband Manuel Aguilar, Chesiree Olivas and Elijah Olivas, all of Odessa brothers, Rudy Portillo, Luis Portillo, Manuel Portillo, Pete Quintela, Joe Quintela sister, Sonya Chacon mother, Dolores Ybarra, and grandsons, Josiah and Nehemiah Aguilar.

Her children arise and call her blessed her husband also, and he praises her. Many women have done excellently, but you surpassed them all. Proverbs 31
