Terry Garlington

Terry D. Garlington, 65 of Odessa, suddenly became ill and passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.

He was born May 22, 1945 in Galveston, Texas to Elbert Otto Garlington and Helen Griffon Green Garlington. He married Alice Payne on August 26, 1965. He worked as an Equipment and Inventory Manager and Fabrication Superintendent for Patterson Drilling UTI.

He was a loving thoughtful husband, father, and grandfather a man of truth, trust, loyalty, kindness, a heart full of love and a friend to all. Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good name is better than fine perfume.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E.O. and Helen Griffon Garlington and brother, Robert Dale Garlington.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Garlington of Odessa daughter, Rhonda Garlington Ely and husband Bryan Ely, their children, Bailey Ann Ely, and Taylor Ann Ely, all of Tyler, Texas daughter, Teresa Tish Garlington McIntire, and her children, Kayla Ann McIntire and Trista Leigh McIntire of Odessa sister, Peggy Garlington Eubanks and husband Bob Eubanks of Anson, Texas Nieces, Patrice Watts of Anson, Texas, and Traci Garlington of Austin, Texas Nephews, Jayson Propst of Anson, Texas and Scott Garlington of Austin, Texas.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Friday, January 7, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Matt Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
