Thelma Maxine Allmond passed away peacefully at the Villagio Assisted Living Center in Carrollton, Texas on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the age of 86. She was the daughter of the late Lena E. (Haddock) and Mack A. Walls and was born March 18, 1931 in Colorado City, Texas. She was a resident of Odessa for 60 years where she was a beloved wife, mom, and grandmother. Besides being a devoted housewife for many years, she also worked eight years for the Ector County Independent School District and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Odessa.
Maxine is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Calvin Leonard Allmond. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Opal Scarborough, Pauline Fhantrapp, Glena Pierce and Evelyn Northcutt.
She is survived by her three children: Steve Allmond and his wife Ginger of Austin, Texas; Debra Tomlinson of Los Angeles, California; David Allmond and his wife Rose of Frisco, Texas; and her four grandchildren: Scott and Kristi Tomlinson, Brian Allmond and Lisa Allmond. She is also survived by her sisters, Vera Bagwell and Margaret Stollard, and a brother Edward Walls.
Maxine was a kind and loving person whose greatest joy in life was her three children and her four grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Odessa from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, followed by a private family graveside service.
