Thelma Buck, 95, of Odessa, Texas passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021.
She was born on June 9, 1925 to John and Mattie Wood in Whitney, Texas.
Thelma is best remembered as owner and operator of “Thelma’s Café” for a little over 20 years. Located at 4th & Washington in Odessa, Texas. She so much loved her work and customers. She moved to Odessa from Amarillo in 1956. She was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Buck; father; mother; son, Stanley Black; five brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by granddaughter, Kristi Jarrett of Odessa; grandson, Timothy Black of Scottsdale, AZ; stepchildren, Billie, and Bill Shelton; brother, Glen Wood of Englewood, CO; three great grandchildren, Brittany Ray of Cypress, TX, Taylor Jarrett of Odessa, TX, and Jordan Jarrett of Odessa, TX; and six great-great grandchildren, Emily Adams, Ily Adams and Corbin Adams of Cypress, TX, and Cambria Mobley, Lydia Jarrett and Lizzy Jarrett of Odessa, TX.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Aubrey Jones officiating.
