Thomas West Duncan, age 77, of Odessa, left this life to be with The Lord on April 24, 2013 at his home in Odessa.
He was born May 15, 1935 in McCamey, Texas. He graduated from high school in 1953 from Odessa High School. After graduation, Tom served his country in the Army, and completed his service in Anchorage, Alaska. After returning home, Tom attended college at Odessa College and Texas A M University. Tom married the love of his life, Linda Jo Thompson on June 9, 1956. They spent 56 years together and raised three wonderful children. Tom was employed as a lab supervisor for Huntsman Corporation at the time of his retirement in 1998. He loved to spend his spare time pursuing his passion for hunting and fishing with friends and family. Tom and Linda were active members of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine and Bill Duncan, an older brother Robert Duncan and a twin brother, James Duncan.
He will be sorely missed by his loving wife, Linda Duncan of the home his daughter, Debbie Kinsel and husband Clyde of Purdon, Texas, daughter Diana Jones of Odessa, and son, Thomas Duncan, Jr. and wife Shannon of Hobbs, New Mexico two sisters, Clois Petty of Midland and Carole Wallace of Waco. Tom leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Ryan King and wife Kacie of Frost, Texas, Justin Steadman and wife Katelin of Midland, Tanner Duncan and wife Eden of Hobbs, New Mexico, Carlie Duncan of Denver, Colorado, Cole Duncan of Salt Lake City, Utah and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Duncan also leaves a legacy of three great grandchildren, Reid King, Ryder King and Hayze Steadman.
Graveside services are planned for 5:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Jimmy Braswell officiating.
The Duncan family appreciates the special care given by Home Hospice, especially home health nurse Vanessa Burleson.
