Thomas Glasscock

June 6, 1940 — January 3, 2015

Thomas Doyle Glasscock was born June 6, 1940 in Slaton, Texas to Alvin and Grace Glasscock. He went to be with the Lord on the morning of January 3, 2015.

He grew up in Anton, Texas and graduated from Hale Center High School where he met his wife, Rita Hyder. They were married October 18, 1958. Tommy farmed in the Lubbock area for 9 years before moving to Houston in 1967. In 1968, Tommy and family moved to Odessa where he was a machinist. In 1991, he went to work for the City of Odessa in Building Services Department until retiring in December of 2014.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Grace, and his brother Bill Glasscock.

Tommy is survived by his wife Rita Glasscock, his son Mark Glasscock and his wife Cathy, his daughter Lacricia Moore, his daughter Shanna Simmons and her husband Matt Simmons, and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-7pm on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 4pm. Burial service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Promised Land Christian Retreat, 822 E. Glenn Dr., Odessa, TX in his memory.
