Thomas Martinez

Thomas Tommy Arellano Martinez, age 80, of Odessa, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 in Odessa, Texas.

He was born September 22, 1930 in Mexico and was later adopted by Juan Silva and Santos Silva in Corpus Christi. He married Juana Jaquez December 1, 1987 in Odessa. Tommy worked his entire life in the construction business. He worked for Abbott Company for numerous years. Tommy loved building bird houses and shared his birdhouses with family and friends. He will also be greatly missed by his constant companions, Oscar and Chiquita.

Survivors include his children, Thomas Martinez, Jr. of Oregon Mary Gibson and husband Marvin of Nebraska, Arturo Martinez and wife Connie of Colorado, Angelita Guerrero of Midland Linda Sigala of Nebraska Irma Watt and husband Michael of Nebraska Reymundo Martinez of Iowa Edward Martinez of Odessa and Teresa Vasquez and husband Rick of Odessa his stepchildren, Christine Medrano, Margaret Navarette, Salvador Jaquez and Terry Roman, all of Odessa and many many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 56 PM Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
