Timothy Eckel

Timothy Dale Eckel Papa, 62, passed into the arms of his Lord on Tuesday, December 31st, 2013 at home in Odessa, Texas. He was born November 29, 1951 to Emery and Norma Eckel in Odessa, Texas.
He attended Odessa High School and had various continuing education classes in conjunction with his job as part owner of Eckel Manufacturing Inc.
He served in the Seventh Armored Calvary in the United States Army.
After many special training assignments he was stationed in Germany in the early seventies and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife Kathy his three sons, Cody Eckel and wife Paula, Chris Eckel and Travis Eckel all of Odessa two daughters Christi Ernst of Southlake, Texas and Kelsi Parker and husband Bart of Odessa Texas.
Six grandchildren Taylor, Nicholas, Alexis, Tanner, Lane Laci. His father, Emery Eckel and wife Judy of Malakoff, Texas. Mother inlaw Maves Archer and husband Jim. One brother, Terry Eckel and wife Diane of Odessa, Texas. Also, many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grandnieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother Norma his sister Donna.
His passions included draftingdrawing, motorcycles, four wheelers, trains and model railroads, wood working and mechanics.
He was also an expert marksman who loved to out shoot his sons to their dismay. But, above all he loved his family, his wife of over 20 years, and his five children and grandchildren. He loved to laugh with such a wonderful sense of humor, play and tell jokesstories.
He will be missed more than words can express, but we know we will meet with him again one day and he has told us he will give us a grand tour of Heaven upon our arrival.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Storz officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens following services.

and Funeral Home.
