Toby Gene Tucker, age 69 of Odessa, passed away Friday May 31, 2013 with his family at his side.
He was born June 18, 1943 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Buster Dorsey B.D. and Nevada Joyce Muse Tucker and spent his childhood days in Midland, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Army and continued to live and work in Germany after his discharge for several years before returning to the states. He started in Las Vegas where he was a black jack dealer and shared lots of colorful stories of the famous people he met. Moving back to the OdessaMidland area, over the years, he worked in the oilfield, was a barrestaurant owner and manager of several fast food chains in Odessa and Midland.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his best friend who stayed by his side for many years, Marsha Brunet son, Troy Tucker daughter, Lynette Jo and Robert Mathis, all of Odessa sons, Jerry and Cathy Birden, Jason and Christy Tucker, all of Houston, Texas his sisters, Tina Plumlee, of Odessa and Tanya and Ric Warnick, of Midland. He had 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his dog Lady, who he treasured.
Visitation with the family will be 68 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Monday, June 3, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Ric Warnick officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
