Valinda Young

Valinda Sue Young, 59, of Midland, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in Midland, TX.
Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa, TX.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Pettit Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK.

Valinda was born on September 24, 1957 to Robert and Alma McGough in Clovis, NM. She was raised and educated in Clovis and graduated from Clovis High School. Valinda later moved to Midland, TX where she met and later married the love of her life, Loyd Alan Young on June 1, 1994. She worked for Green's Restaurant for 15 years and for Kohl's Department store for 8 years. Valinda enjoyed sewing, gardening and shopping with her daughter, she could always find a bargain. Her favorite things to eat and drink were Reese's Cups and Dr. Pepper. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her daughter Ashley. She was a friend to all and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Valinda is preceded in death by her parents and brother Steven McGough.

Valinda is survived by her husband, Loyd Alan Young and daughter Ashley of Midland, TX; brothers Phil and wife Kay McGough of Carthage, TX, Robert McGough and wife Terri of Poteau, OK, and Kenneth McGough of Sunrise, FL; sister Tanya and husband Randy of Clayton, NM, and several nieces and nephews.
