Vaudie E. Stover Garrett, 89, of Odessa went to be with the Lord April 22, 2013.
She was born to Ida Ann and John Stover April 8, 1924 in Overton County, Tennessee. She was one of 9 siblings. She married Luther Elzie Garrett in 1941 and together they had 5 children. Vaudie was a devoted wife, mother, Granny and GG. One would say she was the backbone of the Garrett family. One of her passions was her vegetable garden. She took great pride in growing her own green beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers and preparing them for her family. She also enjoyed Bingo and bowling she never met a stranger. She was a member of the West University Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Garrett, and sons Larry Garrett and Ray Garrett.
Survivors : Daughter, Lou Ann Allen and husband Roy Allen of Odessa Sons, Frankie Garrett of Odessa, John Garrett and wife Carolyn Garrett of Odessa 14 grandchildren 30 great grandchildren and 17 greatgreat grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
