Veda Gavit

Veda Berlin Gavit, 92 of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home with Larry Mathis of Brownwood, TX officiating.
Berlin was born to the late R.K. and Mildred McKelvain on October 20, 1921 in Moran, Texas. She married D. W. Chick Gavit on November 16, 1938 in Albany, Texas.
Together, they made their home in Andrew before moving to Odessa in the 1960s.
Berlin was preceded in death by her husband, Chick and daughter EvaLee Bolen, her two brothers: John R. and Jimmy McKelvain.
Berlin is survived by two grandsons Bobby Macorkle and family of Howe, TX and Randall Macorke and family of Odessa, TX, two sisters Lela Mathis of San Angelo and Evelyn Criner of Andrews, two brothers Kenneth McKelvain of Abilene, TX and Harold McKelvain of Odessa. Also surviving are four greatgrandchildren and five greatgreatgrandchildren.
The family would like to thank Sherwood Place, Madison Medical Resort and Star Hospice for their love and support.
