Velda Jones

Our mother, Velda Jones, age 82, of Odessa, TX, went home today, August 28, 2015 to live in her celestial home and to reunite with all that went before her. She will reunite with her husband whom she cared for 30 years and loved very deeply. Also her daughter that she missed every day since she went home to her reward.

Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Velda was born May 1, 1933 to Houston Lafayette Roland and Ruby Agnes (Penrod) Roland in Union Spring Grove, Kentucky. She married Lawrence Darwin Jones on June 28, 1950 in Lancaster, Illinois. She was a faithful loving wife, devoted mother, Grandmother Mamie, sister, aunt and a truly beautiful human being.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry Jones and Rickey Jones; sister, Carmen and her son Greg Puntney, Larry's three children, Joshua and his wife Natalie, two great granddaughters, Adriana and Sofia, Houston and Kathleen, Rickey's daughter, Maddison and great grandbaby boy, Calvin.
