Velma Pando

Velma Sanchez Pando, age 54, of Odessa, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Odessa, Texas.

She was born August 2, 1958 in Odessa, Texas to Cipriano Sanchez and Bernarda Gonzales Sanchez. She grew up in Odessa and went to grade school here. She graduated from Ysletta High School in El Paso and graduated from UTPB with a Bachelors Degree. She was an educator for 17 years for ECISD and MISD. She was a loving, vibrant, and caring woman.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cipriano Sanchez motherinlaw, Emma Pando and her Tia Maria.

Survivors include her husband, Gustavo P. Pando her son, Gus Pando, II, her daughter, AnnMarie Pando, and her mother, Bernarda Sanchez, all of Odessa her siblings, Olga Sanchez of El Paso, Robert and Miguel Sanchez of Odessa, Rosemary S. Andros of San Angelo, Cecilia Sanchez of Odessa fatherinlaw, Alonzo Pando, Sr. of Kermit, Texas brotherinlaw, Alonzo Pando, Jr. of El Paso and sisterinlaw, Corinna Pando Garcia of Wink, Texas.

Rosary will be at 7:00 PM Friday, June 28, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 29 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
