Velma Whitworth

Velma Jean Whitworth, age 82, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Odessa.

Jean was born in Grand Prairie on February 23, 1929. She had four children, Debbie McReynolds, Eddie McReynolds, Donnie McReynolds, and Kathy Craighead and four stepchildren, Earl Whitworth, Tom Whitworth, Bob Whitworth and Jim Whitworth. She had six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Whitworth. She also cherished her church family at Second Baptist Church.

Visitation with the family will be 57 PM Friday, February 10, 2011 in Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:30 PM Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Duckett of Second Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Michael McReynolds, Ben Craighead, Jeremiah McReynolds, Joshua Ensey, Earl Whitworth, Bob Whitworth, Jim Whitworth, Cary Thornton, Scott Smith, and Ernie Eaton. Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Elizabeth Craighead, Aubra McReynolds and Kimberly McReynolds.

Memorials may be given to Second Baptist Church or Home Hospice who cared for her in her last days.
