Velva Knapp

Velva Leedale Pilkington Wright Knapp, age 88, of Odessa, TX, passed away on May 17, 2015 in Midland, TX.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Monday, May 18, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home located at 6801 East Business 20 in Odessa, TX.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clydel Chapman of Northside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Velva Knapp was born February 20, 1927 to Lee and Nancy Pilkington in Little Rock, Arkansas. After moving to Sweetwater, TX, Velva attended school there.
Velva met and married Sidney Wright, her first husband in June of 1947 in Merkel, TX. Sidney died in May of 1955, leaving Velva with four small children and three months pregnant with her fifth child. Velva later married Glenn Knapp and together they had two more children.

Velva is preceded in death by her first and second husbands, three brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by two sisters, her children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family of Velva Knapp wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the excellent care given to their mother at Midland Memorial Hospital and the love and care given to her at Assisted Living at Brookdale.
