In loving memory, Vernon Elbert Dye, 89 years of age, passed away on January 12, 2021 in Odessa, Texas.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 18, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Vernon was born in Prague, Oklahoma on April 26, 1931 to Dallas Jackson Dye and Lula Morgan Dye.
He married the love of his life, Louise, on September 26, 1953 in Ada, Oklahoma.
Vernon worked in the oilfields of Texas and Oklahoma for Parker Drilling Co. for 37 years, earning many safety awards from Parker.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise; one daughter, Kelley; and three brothers, L.D., Kenneth and Bud.
Vernon is survived by his three daughters, Vicky Landers of Deer Run, Texas, Sharon Macon and her husband John of Odessa, Texas, and Janette Hill and her husband Bobby of Odessa, Texas; two sons, Vernon D. Dye and his wife Susan of Choctaw, Oklahoma, and Greg Dye of Odessa, Texas; as well as his siblings, Lenore Snow of Shawnee, Oklahoma, James Dye and Bobby Dye, both of Seminole, Oklahoma, Shirley Killibrew of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Ronald Lee Dye of Noble, Oklahoma. He was also blessed with ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
