Vernon Williams, Jr.

Vernon Williams, Jr. was called home to his heavenly Father Wednesday, September 19, 2012.

He was born July 30, 1931 in Wink, Texas to Jewel Frankie McMillian and Vernon Williams, Sr. He graduated from Wink High School in 1949. He loved telling stories of his high school football days and his early days of working in the oilfields of West Texas. After high school Vernon moved to Odessa and went to work at Texas Flange, Inc. He moved up in the company quickly and bought it in 1963. He spent the rest of his life devoted to it. He was respected in his profession and known to be a very hard worker. He taught and mentored many young men who went on to own successful businesses of their own. His love for his family was boundless and unconditional.

Vernon was a 32 degree Mason of H.A. McFarland Lodge and the Odessa and El Paso Scottish Rite Association. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Even up to the last day of his life he was on the phone planning a hunting and fishing trip.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents his son, Billy Wayne Williams and his brother Hollis Williams.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Deana Price Williams of Odessa his sisters, Carolyn Korth and Walter of Brenham, Texas, Martha Eads of Livngston, Texas his daughters, Marla Omer and husband Mike of Houston, TX., Donna Watson of Odessa, TX. and Kathy Millsap and husband Mike of Pflugervillle, TX. son, Jamie Keese and wife Tamara of Vernon, TX. grandsons, Ivan Williams and wife April of Odessa, TX., Bill Cody Williams Omer of Houston, TX., Colten Watson of Lubbock, TX., Kragen Millsap of Pflugerville, TX., Avery Keesi and Jameson Keese of Vernon, TX. granddaughters Miranda Omer of Houston, TX., Macy Omer of Atlanta, GA., Kyndra Watson Springfield and husband Jerris of New Braunfels, TX., Kodi Keese of Leander, TX., Leigha Millsap of Pflugerfield, TX., Cameron Keese of Vernon, TX. and Aubree Barton of Odessa, TX great granddaugters Hannah and Presley Williams of Odessa, TX. and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Monday, September 24, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
