Vicki Land Solla, 66, of Odessa, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, in Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Vicki was born in Snyder, Texas, to Juanita and Stanford Land on May 4, 1956, the fifth of seven children. She attended school in Snyder and Midland. She met "the man she was going to marry" in the summer of 1974; a few months later Vicki married John Solla in El Paso, Texas. They enjoyed 48 years together, having two children and spoiling five grandchildren whenever they got the chance. Vicki worked in retail and in the school system, first in the workroom at Ireland Elementary, then as attendance clerk and then bookkeeper at Permian High School where she finally retired. Her retirement was spent doing everything creative or decorative for Homemade Wines, her business with John before they sold it in 2020. She volunteered throughout her life making costumes for various programs, decorating for proms, and anything else that was asked of her.
Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judy, her niece Brandi, and grand-nephew Eric.
Vicki is survived by her husband, John Solla; her daughters, Jami and Tina; her son-in-law, Rich; and her grandchildren, Bailey, Katie, Tristan, Rip, and Rhett, who are exceptionally lucky to have had the BEST Nana EVER. She is also survived by her siblings, Pat, Rocky, Sandy, Dusty, and Baron; her siblings-in-law, Gino, Liz, Patricia, and Otto, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the medical staff at ORMC, especially the CCU nurses, therapists, and physicians who provided care to Vicki in her final days.
