Viola A. Taylor passed peacefully at her home in Odessa, TX on July 5, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 18, 1933, in Poultney, Vermont to Adeline and William (Wegrzyn) Blatt.
Viola had a long adventurous life starting at a young age. After graduating high school, she attended nursing school and graduated as a Registered Nurse. Upon graduation she and four of her classmates decided to travel the country and work along the way before settling in Odessa. Once here, she started working at Medical Center Hospital as a floor nurse.
Not long after starting work in Odessa, she met and married the love of her life, Don Taylor. Viola and Don married on December 8, 1961, at Second Baptist Church in Odessa. After several years working as a nurse, Viola and Don decided to start a family. Viola stopped working and raised her two sons. Once her sons were grown, she went back to work for Ector County Independent School District until she retired in 2003.
Viola is survived by her two sons, one from Odessa and the other one from Kerrville.
