Virginia Thomas

Virginia Ilene Infield Thomas, of Odessa, passed away on September 29, 2021 in Odessa, Texas.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 am on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa, Texas with Joshua Carpenter, officiating.

Virginia was born in Hominy, Oklahoma to Lura Lavina (Brittain) and Orley Nathan Infield on April 11, 1937.  She went to school at Mound Valley, Oklahoma.  She married Bill Thomas on September 25, 1957, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

She enjoyed handcrafting quilts and gave them to her family, baking cakes and pies, loved gardening, and nature.  She was actively involved in her church and volunteered at school.

She is preceded in death by parents, Orley and Lura, eight brothers and sisters:  Sylvia Infield Weaver, Leona Infield Horine, Lavesta Infield Sierman, Shirley Infield Pillars, Edith Infield Crabtree, Lottie Infield, Roy Infield, and Perry Infield.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Thomas, daughter and son-in-law, Debra (Thomas) and Terrall Franklin; grandchildren, Meredith and Josh Carpenter, and great-grandchildren, Everett and Elias Carpenter; and by countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
