Wanda Jaunell "Nell" Hunter, 79, of Odessa, TX, passed away on February 27, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gordon Cox, of Bethel Baptist Church of Monahans, TX officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Nell was born in Winters, TX, to William Albert and Verna Lucille Summers on September 12, 1935. She married the love of her life, James "Jim" Tilden Hunter and lived happily together for more than 50 years until his death in August 2014. She took pride in being a homemaker.
Nell is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her parents, her brother, Glen Summers, her sister's Zella Miller and Jean Thomas, and her niece, Denise Miller.
She is survived by her son, Paul and his wife, Sherry Hunter of Monahans; daughter, Darla Hamer of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Kyle Hamer of Bosier City, Lousianna, Jeremy Durr of Odessa, and Haley Hunter of Monahans; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Jake.
Pall bearers will be Michael Campbell, Butch Gross, Bob Kizziar, and Billy R. Redmon.
