William Lewis Beckham, Jr., known to his family and friends as Junior, passed away at the age of 84 on October 17, 2024, in Odessa, Texas.

Funeral services are arranged by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home with visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2024, and the funeral at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Jeff Cleere of Chapel Hill Baptist Church will officiate. Junior was a 32nd degree Mason, and the funeral will continue with a Masonic service in the chapel. Interment will follow.

Junior was born in Littlefield, Texas, to William Beckham and Edith Browning Beckham on April 29, 1940. He married Doris Hudgens on August 1, 1957.

Junior began working on drilling rigs at a young age and spent most of his adult life in the oil industry. He worked in and around West Texas for Parker Drilling and HNG, and spent several years in numerous overseas countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Singapore and Indonesia and the North Sea. He became an expert in all areas of drilling for oil and retired as a drilling consultant. After retirement, Junior and his family owned and operated Beck’s Quick Lube in Odessa. He always enjoyed driving, and after selling his business, he worked several years for Avis.

Junior was preceded in death by his father, William Beckham, Sr., his wife, Doris and his mother, Edith Beckham.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Kilgore Beckham, whom he married November 13, 2012, his son, Donald Wayne Beckham and daughter-in-law, Jeri Beckham, daughter, Robbie Janell Phillips and Kenneth Phillips, step-sons, Jason Kilgore and spouse Deena Kilgore, Chad Kilgore, sister, Patsy Gill: grandchildren, Misty Heifner and her partner Christina Heifner, Jeremy Heifner and spouse Jennifer Heifner, Jared Phillips and spouse Kimberly Phillips, Justin Cupp, Carolyn Beckham, Matthew Beckham, Luna Rose Kilgore, Joseph Kilgore, Braydon Kilgore, Maverick Kilgore, Jackson Kilgore: great grandchildren, Stormy Wofford, Tanner Phillips, Jayden Heifner, Joshusa Heifner, Kinley Phillips, Barrett Honolka, and one great-great grandson, Lennox Prainito.

The Beckham family wish to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Madison Medical Resort who gave such kind and compassionate care to our special loved one, and to Home Hospice for the help and comfort they provided for him. We have come to know and love many of those who took such good care of him, and they are truly angels without wings.
