William Collins

William Leslie Collins Jr., age 66, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas.

He was born October 15, 1943 in Abilene, Texas to Vernor Nell Groom Collins and William Leslie Collins, Sr. He was a cross country truck driver. He also worked as a wire line operator for Basic Energy Service for many years. On April 3, 2000 he married Linda Dilbeck in Odessa.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Ann Murray, his grandparents, Wesley P. Groom and Aela C. Groom, and his parents, Vernor Tupper and William Collins, Sr.

Survivors include his wife Linda Collins of Odessa his stepsons, George Henson, Jr. and Robby Williams of Kilgore, Texas his brothers, Phillip Murray of Odessa and Joe Murray of Forney, Texas his sister, Paula Lang of Odessa his step father, Fred Tupper of Odessa three step grandchildren, one niece and numerous nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, April 23, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
