William Lovera

William "Bill" Lovera, 85, of Odessa passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at Medical Center Hospital.

Bill was born on August 31, 1932 in Strawn, Texas to his parents Lazzie and Dora Lovera. He played semi pro baseball in the Texas League prior to being drafted into the army where he served as a sergeant during the Korean conflict.

He married Paula Pedigo in 1955 and the couple moved to Monahans, Texas.

Bill and Paula remained in West Texas where Bill had a 28 year career as an oilfield drilling superintendent.

Bill is preceded in death by his loving wife, Paula Lovera, his parents, Lazzie and Dora Lovera as well as his son, Larry Lovera.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Lovera Lanham and husband Bob of Port Aransas; sons, Mike Lovera of Odessa, Ronnie Lovera and wife Debbie of Keller; six grandchildren, David Lanham, Michelle Lanham Christadoss and husband Nathaniel, Jason Lovera, Brian Lovera, Taylor Lovera and Nicholas Lovera; two great grandchildren, Grayson Lovera and Landon Lovera.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

A Graveside Memorial for Mr. Lovera will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
