William Bill Henry Selby, 87, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Odessa, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Bill was born in Walters, Oklahoma to Jasper and America Selby on January 26, 1926.
He married Rosa Spurrier on March 21, 1949 in Anson, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 26, 1985.
He married Enid Fish on April 19, 1986 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
He loved his flag and country and was a veteran of WWII and served in the navy on the U.S.S Henry Clay from 1944 to 1946. He worked in the Oil Industry from the North Slope to the Southern Regions of the U.S., both onshore and offshore. He retired as a tool pusher for Sharp Drilling in 1985.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents 5 sisters 1 brother his wife, Enid his son, Pete Spurrier and his daughter, Carolyn Thorton.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Tanya Thomason and her husband Mark of Odessa, TX daughter, Nancy Martin and husband Don of Abilene, TX stepdaughter, Janice Hack of Waco, TX stepdaughter, Eleanor Newell of Boise, ID stepson, Joe Ross of AR stepson, Frank Loosli of AK stepson, Chuck Loosli of AK and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Tippy.
The most important thing in his life was his personal relationship with Jesus Christ and his desire for others to know the Lord.
