Wilma Taylor

Wilma Gail Taylor has gone to fish the unlimited waters of Heaven and will be dearly missed by all who love her.

Gail was born May 8, 1943 in Stamford, Texas to Loyd and Ruby Bounds Reed. She attended school in Abilene and moved to Odessa in 1961. She received her nursing degree from Howard College in 1980. She worked in hospitals and retired doing her passion as a school nurse at Pease elementary. She attended Calvary Baptist Church here in Odessa where she enjoyed the Women's Bible study and singing in the choir. She married Jimmy Don Taylor on September 18, 1987 and enjoyed life to the fullest. Her joyous spare time was spent with family and friends reminiscing old times. The best of her times were spent at Proctor Lake doing what she loved fishing for hours on end. She would catch the big ones, just ask her.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Loyd Reed and Ruby Irene Bounds Reed. A grandson Christopher Taylor and a great grandson Delos Eugene Byrd.

Left to love and remember her is her dearest dog, Max, a loving husband Jim Taylor, a sister, Linda Elrod and her husband Noble; 5 children, daughter, Michelle Connally and her husband Terry of Andrews, son, Mike Duplechain and wife Becky of Andrews, son, Denton Taylor and wife Marcee of Odessa, daughters, Natisha Wilson of Odessa, Jennifer Taylor of Morton, TX; 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

We hold comfort in knowing she is united with those gone before her and is enjoying the streets of gold living the eternal life with her Lord and Savior.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 1:00pm at Sunset Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
