Windell True

Windell Calvin True, 88, of Odessa passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Seabury Center in Odessa. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 27, 2009 at Crescent Park Baptist Church located at 3002 E. University Blvd., Odessa, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Windell True was born February 11, 1921 in Wise County, Texas to George and Nancy True. He married Nadine Gambill of Wichita Falls, Texas on April 16, 1941. He began working in the oilfield supply business in Odessa in 1941 for Continental Emsco Co. which later became LTV Energy Products Co. After 45 years of faithful service, he retired in 1986. Most of those years were spent in Odessa but included various assignments in several West Texas communities McCamey, Sundown, Abilene, Monahans and Midland. His wife Nadine passed away in 1996 after 55 years of marriage. He married Elnora Marko of Odessa in 1997, and she passed away in 2004. Mr. True was a member and former deacon of Crescent Park Baptist Church.

Mr. True is survived by his two sons, Windell C. True, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas and Melvin Wayne True of Odessa; two sisters, Lucille Pruitt of Slidell, Texas, and Ana Cress of Mena, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Mark True of San Antonio, Texas, Todd True of Maplewood, New Jersey, and Pamela True of Maplewood, New Jersey; and six great-grandchildren.
