Wizell Rickerson

February 2, 1941 — March 17, 2016

W.H. (Rick) Rickerson, 75, of Odessa, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 17, 2016 while being surrounded by his family. He suffered from a lengthy illness.

Rick was born February 2, 1941 in Angus, New Mexico to W.H. Rickerson Sr. and Pinkie Ruth Rickerson. He was the oldest of three boys. In the fall of 1966, Rick met and fell in love with his future wife Sandy Musitelli. The two wed July 8, 1967 in Clovis, New Mexico and remained married for 48 years. The family lived in Clovis where Rick was a New Mexico State Policeman. They left Clovis in 1980 and moved to Odessa, Texas where Rick became a chemical salesman.

As a dad, Rick was very involved in his children's lives. He volunteered as a coach for soccer, baseball, and football. Rick was a devoted Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He was also an avid golfer who would use an orange ball when he played golf in the snow. Rick never met a stranger.

Rick was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and served on various committees including the Benevolence Committee, a Multiple Sclerosis support group, led Promise Keepers and attended a Walk to Emmaus. In 1986, Rick was diagnosed with M.S. but through faith and strong will never succumbed to the illness. Instead he chose to support and help others touching many lives of people who shared the same illness. He was a member of the Elks Lodge as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Rick is preceded in death by his father, W.H. Rickerson Sr. and his brother Donald Curtis Rickerson.
