Yolanda Tavarez Olguin, 66, of Odessa, Tx, passed away on October 4, 2020 in Odessa, Texas.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Sonny Olguin of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating.
Yolanda was born in Marfa, Texas to Dolores and Isabella Tavarez on May 1, 1954. She graduated from Ector High School in 1972. She married the love of her life, Joe Olguin, on August 12, 1972 in Odessa, Texas. She and Joe owned Weekend a’ Paris Antiques and Thorough Clean Janitorial Service, the latter of which they have run for 46 years. Joe and Yolanda have 2 children, Melissa Olguin Stark and Jason Olguin. Yolanda was passionate about interior decorating, flower arrangements, gardening, and providing for her family. She was the best wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She loved antiques and collectibles. She loved to cook for her family, the most delicious meals. She was her daughter’s role model. She taught her how to be a good wife and mother. She had an infectious smile and a kind and compassionate spirit. Her family will never be able to forget how she put the needs of other ahead of her own. Especially in death.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her brothers, Hector and Ishmael Tavarez; her father, Dolores Tavarez; and her mother, Isabella Tavarez.
Yolanda is survived by her husband, Joe Olguin; her son, Jason Olguin; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Daniel Stark; and her two grandchildren, Quayln and Emery Stark.
