Zachary Smith

Our beloved son and brother Zachary Paul Smith, went home to be with his heavenly Father on August 6, 2016.

Zach was born in Odessa, TX on March 28, 1991 to Julie Fincher and Douglas Smith.

Zach attended Permian High School where he played baseball and football. He was an offensive lineman for Mojo football and was one of the original "Beefer Nation".
He attended Angelo State University and later moved back to Odessa. Zach was a Christian; he was baptized at Temple Baptist Church.
He had a heart for God and would always call the Lord "The Man Upstairs". Zach was the light in the room, he had a smile and laugh that was contagious.
He had a huge heart and was always helping people, making them smile and laugh. He was always there to listen and comfort. Zach loved sports and was an avid hunter.
He enjoyed being at the lake. He loved spending time with friends and family. He coached Little League Baseball where he was excited about helping young boys spark their dreams.

Zach is preceded in death by his grandfather, John Smith.

Zach is survived by his mother, Julie Fincher and stepfather, Rick Fincher of Odessa, his father, Douglas Smith and stepmother, Cheryl Smith of Lago Vista, TX.; brothers, Joshua Smith and his wife Jordan of San Angelo, Camron Lawrence of San Marcos, Blake Fincher and Brooke Fincher of San Antonio, Logan Fincher of Odessa; grandparents, Joyce and Dwain Beaty of Seguin, Jesse and Twilight Acuff of Odessa, Beverly Smith of Austin, Betty Monroe of Odessa; and his extended family, Lonnie Lawrence and wife Janet and many aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of "Ride or Die" friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, August 8, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Celebration of Zach's life will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Crossroads Fellowship in Odessa. Interment will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Highland Hills Memorial Park, 4219 Park Road 4 South, Burnet, TX.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
